Kendra Watson - Founder, Voyage Yoga Studio & Lead Educator

Kendra began her Yoga Voyage in 2012 while apprenticing as a farrier (blacksmith). Looking for something to balance the physical demands of the job, she walked into her first 75-minute Hot Vinyasa class at Country Zen Yoga right here in Schomberg, Ontario and was instantly hooked.

After eight years of practicing 5–6 times a week, Kendra completed her first 200HR Teacher Training at her home Studio and began teaching immediately.

A move to Perth, Western Australia soon followed, where she taught across five different studios while immersing herself in Ashtanga Yoga through ongoing private study with Moksha and Puja of YogaOm Perth.

Her commitment to continued study has since taken her around the world. Kendra completed her advanced 300HR Vinyasa training with Duncan Parviainen and HOV Yoga in Byron Bay, studied SmartFLOW with internationally respected teacher Annie Carpenter, and in 2025 travelled to Europe for a month-long Teacher’s Intensive with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor.

Kendra remains first and foremost a student of Yoga, continually seeking opportunities to deepen her own practice and understanding.

She will continuing her studies with Annie Carpenter through an additional 100 hours of SmartFLOW training, working toward her 300HR SmartFLOW certification.

Her teaching is grounded in anatomy, alignment, intelligent sequencing and a deep respect for the traditions and philosophy of Yoga.

She believes great teaching goes far beyond learning how to lead a sequence - it requires curiosity, critical thinking, continued study and, above all, a practice of your own.

As Lead Educator of Voyage Yoga School, Kendra brings more than a decade of dedicated practice, years of teaching experience and continued study with some of the most respected teachers in modern Yoga into the training room.

Whether your intention is to teach or simply to deepen your own practice, Kendra believes the first goal of any teacher training should be to become a better student of Yoga.

From that foundation, her intention is to develop knowledgeable, thoughtful and confident practitioners - and, for those who choose to teach, provide the tools to do so safely, skillfully and authentically.

Oliver Crossley is a Pain Physiotherapist with a special interest in complex pain and invisible illness presentations, PhD student at the University of Queensland (Mindfulness-based Interventions in Chronic Pain), Ordained Zen Priest, and Ashtanga Yoga Teacher.

He founded Yogic Physio to bring the ancient yogic practices into the modern world of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and the person centred, scientific rigour of modern musculoskeletal care into Yoga and Movement culture.

Vikki Crane-small - Anatomy

Vikki has been a massage therapist for nearly 30 years. She graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 1996,  returning to the school in the early part of her career to instruct Principles of Sports Massage and Remedial Exercise courses as well as supervise students in a sports out reach program.

As part of a special injury program through WSIB, Vikki worked with individuals who had suffered catastrophic injuries. This experience lead to her career working with athletes with a physical disability, specifically the Canadian National Swim Team where she was team therapist from 1998-2015, and part of the Canadian Medical Team for the 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Paralympics.

Vikki spent time as a consultant for the William Osler Health Centre Assessment Solutions, providing expert opinion in the field of massage therapy in dispute resolution between insurance companies and claimants where bodily injury occurred as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Vikki has expanded on that experience by continuing to take courses in orthopedic assessment, biomechanics, exercise management while attending lectures and conferences to keep her up to date on the changes in concussion, cancer treatments and joint replacement procedures.

Vikki holds 2 diplomas in nutrition and a certification as a personal trainer.

Shalie Jelenic - Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga

Shalie brings an extraordinary 40 years of study, practice and lived experience in Yoga, meditation and Yoga philosophy to Voyage Yoga School.

Her spiritual journey began as a child growing up in Australia, where an early curiosity about the nature of suffering and the deeper questions of life eventually led her to the teachings of Yoga. What began as a personal search has become a lifelong path - one that has shaped the way Shalie has lived, studied and shared Yoga for four decades.

Her depth of knowledge extends far beyond the physical practice. Shalie has spent her life immersed in Yoga philosophy, meditation, mantra and the traditional teachings of Yoga, bringing an incredible wealth of experience and perspective to our teacher trainees.

A gifted musician with a beautiful singing voice, Shalie also shares the practice of Kirtan - the meditative singing of ancient sacred mantras - offering students an opportunity to experience another deeply rooted aspect of the Yoga tradition.

Shalie owns and manages the Yoga Retreat Center in King City and is a treasured part of our Voyage Yoga School faculty.

We are incredibly fortunate to have someone with Shalie's depth of experience guiding our students through the aspects of Yoga that reach far beyond asana.

Jessy Thomas - Hypermobility in the Yoga room & in life

Jessy loved yoga from the instant she tried it with her mom, as a kid. She’s studied and found love for many styles, including Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin and somatics. She has been teaching for almost 25 years. Currently she runs a studio, Bala Yoga, from her home in Everett, Ontario

Jessy’s love of anatomy and movement started with horses at a young age. She pursued schooling in equine massage therapy, and has practiced for 16 years getting horses moving and feeling better. Through experience with this, she began providing personal training to horse riders to improve their balance and performance. Over the years, Jessy has completed specialized training in fitness for older adults, chair yoga, nutrition and spin.

Through the experience of a long-time back injury, Jessy found yoga therapy. Yoga therapy and pure movement have opened the possibility of a world without pain for her and so many of her clients. Jessy sees yoga therapy and neuromuscular re-patterning clients privately; to help them live the lives they dream of living. As yoga therapy students learn more and more about their bodies, strength and flexibility are increased, movement becomes more pure and ease is possible in all movement.

Jessy’s extensive knowledge of anatomy informs her students to become self-aware of their individual postural habits and areas which need awakening.  Her real gift is that she can read her students’ bodies and pinpoint exactly what the students need to do in order to increase their personal understanding of their body and their practice. Jessy has helped clients’ pre and post knee and hip replacements, living with MS and Parkinson’s disease and beginning to advanced yoga practitioners. Jessy’s class is great for yogis looking for a challenging practice at all levels, grounded in alignment and science, with motivation to help you learn something new.

In this module, you’ll learn all about Hypermobility disorder, how it shows up in the yoga room and how you can help your students to thrive despite their tissue challenges.

Moksha - Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Love & Devotion

Moksha has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years. His journey began with a snowboarding injury and a desire to heal his shoulder. Over time, yoga became much more than a physical practice - it became a way of life.

He fell in love with Ashtanga Yoga at the Gold Coast Yoga Centre with Mark Togni, later studying with Dena Kingsberg in Byron Bay and travelling to India to practice with Pattabhi Jois.

Returning to Perth in 2003, Moksha held a vision of creating a warm, open and welcoming space where people could come to practice, learn and simply be themselves. In 2005, YogaOm was born.

His own practice has continued to evolve through ongoing study with teachers from around the world. He completed teacher training with Linda Healey in Perth, attended workshops with many inspiring teachers, and later travelled to Colorado to complete further teacher training with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor.

Moksha is also deeply passionate about mantra, chanting and Bhakti Yoga. Following this path of devotion, he now shares monthly kirtan with the YogaOm community.

Today, YogaOm has grown beyond its Ashtanga roots to offer Vinyasa, Yin, Pranayama, Meditation, Kirtan, Workshops, Retreats and Teacher Training - while staying true to its original vision of community and connection.

For Moksha, yoga continues to create space, strength and balance in everyday life - in body, mind and spirit.

Away from the mat, you’ll usually find him in the ocean, surfing or kitesurfing, making music or tending to his garden.

Puja Hart - Bhakti Yoga and Yogic Philosophy

Born and raised in Calcutta, India, Yoga has always been an integral part of Puja’s life and culture. Some of her earliest memories are of her mother praying, chanting and practicing Pranayama - seeds that have continued to shape her path.

In 2000, Puja met Moksha and was introduced to the Ashtanga system, which she immediately embraced. She completed her teacher training with Moksha and has travelled to Mysore to study with Sharath Jois. She also returns regularly to Goa with her family to practice with Rolf and Marci Naujokat. Along the way, workshops with teachers including Paddy McGrath, Simon Borg-Olivier, Tiffany Cruikshank and Mark Robberds have continued to enrich her practice and teaching.

As a mother of three boys, Puja knows that life doesn’t always make space for a regular practice. Her own journey has taught her to return to the mat with compassion, humility and love - bringing the challenges, messiness and beauty of everyday life onto the mat.

Her teaching is deeply rooted in this integration. Puja encourages students to listen to the wisdom of their body and breath, working with movement, energy and the meridians to create greater awareness, balance and connection.

Deeply grounded in Bhakti Yoga, Puja sees mantra chanting, meditation and Pranayama as powerful tools for deepening her connection with the soul and softening the edges of life.

Her classes weave together Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, simple mantra and imagery, creating space to connect more deeply with the body, breath and the quiet wisdom within.

Puja is also a certified children’s yoga teacher and has a deep interest in natural approaches to wellbeing, nutrition and nourishing the body through beautiful, wholesome food.

Puja’s Manifesto

Your practice is your prayer.
Allow. Surrender. Lean in. Let go.

Your body and breath hold wisdom.
Listen with your heart.

Every practice is a good practice.

Be kind to yourself.

Experience Yoga - its aliveness in every cell of your body.

Experience the breath.
Breathe from the soles of your feet.

Remember that your natural state is joy.
— Wayne Dyer

You are here. You are alive.
Feel joy. Give into it.
